BMW Motorrad Welt Berlin: Lecture: At some point it's too late with Armin Thalhofer
After the breakdown of his marriage, Armin Thalhofer increasingly questioned the meaning of his life to date. Career, fat company car, fancy home... Everything he had strived for over the past 30 years had suddenly disappeared or no longer had any real meaning for him.
In April 2018, he decided to completely turn his life upside down, quit his flat and job, sold or gave away almost all of his belongings and set off a year later on an R 1200 GS Adventure for a planned two-year trip around the world.
After crossing Africa for six months, he met his son again in Buenos Aires in autumn 2019. From there, they set off on their joint father-son adventure through South America on two motorbikes.
5 months, 8 countries, 25,000 kilometres and countless experiences later, they both knew what a great gift of life they had literally experienced on this journey.
In their jointly written book ‘Irgendwann ist irgendwann zu spät / Warum Vater und Sohn das große Abenteuer wagten und wie es sie veränderte’ (Sometime is too late / Why father and son dared to embark on this great adventure and how it changed them), they wrote about this unique journey.
The logical consequence was a lecture based on the book.
In an exciting mixture of storytelling, reading and fascinating images, Armin Thalhofer wants to take visitors on this impressive father-son adventure and inspire them to reflect.
